New Orleans College & Career Attainment Network (NOLA CCAN)
“NOLA CCAN staff sort through the vast array of information available to educators, identifying the best resources so we can focus on helping our students plan their futures.”
Our vision is that NOLA CCAN impacts the city's entire school system. We strive to ensure that every student has a well-trained counselor or success coach and is on a path toward gainful employment in a dignified career with an affordable postsecondary education credential of value. We are focused on system-level impact.
NOLA CCAN drives city-wide change through key programs, resources and capacity building initiatives.
NOLA CCAN serves as the essential hub for postsecondary readiness and success in New Orleans’ decentralized education landscape. We foster collaboration across schools and community organizations and provide targeted professional development for high school counselors, success coaches, and youth-serving professionals —strengthening their skills, knowledge, and connections to better support students. By elevating the practitioners who guide young people, we expand college and career access, persistence, and success for New Orleans youth, because our impact is strongest — and our youth are best supported — when we work together.
A strategic initiative of the Cowen Institute at Tulane University and a proud member of the National College Attainment Network (NCAN), NOLA CCAN builds on the Cowen Institute’s decades of collaborative leadership.
